News & Press Releases
The Maryland House of Delegates has passed fracking ban HB 1325 with a 97 to 40 vote. The Democrats have finally realized, along with a few Republicans (none that represent Allegany County), that most Marylanders do NOT want fracking.
We would like to thank every Green and Progressive working on this issue for contacting their State Delegate and mobilizing others to tke action.
This is a monumental step forward to guarantee our water, ecosystems, and health & safety are protected. Allegany County Greens will continue to fight against these potential ecological disasters, but we cannot do it alone.
We urge you to contact State Senator Edwards (R) and Senate President Miller (D) to tell them to support the corresponding Senate Bill (SB) 740. With enough support, it will be impossible to Governor Hogan to veto. Let's make this happen!
